ChatGPT has nearly unlimited use cases, but the following tips will focus on improving your productivity by streamlining your tasks:
→ Content Creation
Generate high-quality content on any topic, such as blog posts, social media updates, or emails.
Pro Tip: It's better for creating blog posts and emails than social media posts [i.e. the basic tweeting method with hashtags is outdated].
Example prompt: "Write a blog post about the benefits of starting a garden for mental health."
→ UX/Marketing Copy
Generate persuasive and effective copy for a variety of marketing and UX purposes. Say goodbye to filler words and empty space on your website.
Example prompt: "Write a headline and description for a new mobile app that helps users live a healthier lifestyle."
→ Translations
Accurately translate text from one language to another, improving upon existing machine translation systems.
Example prompt: "Translate this text from English to Spanish: [insert text]"
→ Web Scraping
GPT-4 won't power an entire web scraping site, but it can give you the tools to examine web pages quickly.
Example prompt: "What is the key takeaway from this webpage: [insert URL]"
→ Text Summarization
Summarize long pieces of text into shorter summaries, making it easier to understand and digest.
Example prompt: "Summarize this email into a few sentences: [paste email text]"
→ Questions & Answers
ChatGPT is faster than Google in most cases. Shave time off your search by getting the answer right away instead of browsing through numerous posts/videos.
Example prompt: "How far away is the moon?"
→ Sentiment Analysis
Analyze the sentiment of a given piece of text, determining whether it is positive, negative, or neutral. It can even tell you the style and tone of the text.
Example prompt: "Analyze the sentiment of these customer reviews for our new product, and tell us the style and tone of the review."
→ Branded Design Concepts
Generate ideas for design concepts, such as layout, color schemes, or typography.
Example prompt: "Generate 3 main colors and 5 accent colors for a website that sells wooden swords.”
→ Text Completion
Complete partial sentences or paragraphs, making it useful for writing assistance or autocomplete.
Example prompt: "Complete this sentence: 'The best way to use GPT-4 is...'"
→ Content Rework
GPT-4 can help you rewrite, reword, and even redesign your content by suggesting words/phrases or generating new text to make your content digestible.
Fun Fact: After I've compiled all the information for my long tweets [like this one], I ask ChatGPT to improve clarity and shorten some of my running thoughts.
Example prompt: "Can you reorder this list from most to least helpful?" or "Can you check my writing for errors and make improvements?"
→ Conclusion
The tips in this list barely scratch the surface of what's possible with GPT-4, but hopefully, they have given you new ideas to help you handle your daily operations.
And don't be discouraged if you don't have access to GPT-4. The older models of ChatGPT may not have internet access [or plugins], but they can still be leveraged in similar ways.
